I’ve been so busy with my coverage of E3 for the other site I write for and working my second job that I’ve had very little to no time at all to watch anything on TV or the internet. I’ve missed most of the wrestling from the past couple of weeks (as a longtime wrestling fan, that’s tough for me), and I haven’t even gotten to check out things on YouTube. As a result, I haven’t had the chance to check out the commercial for StarCraft II.
Until now.
And after having finally checked it out, I have to say that there’s power in imagery. All Blizzard had to do to make an amazing trailer was have a few lines said about the terrors of war and shower us with high-quality video to make their point. And there point is:
StarCraft II will be awesome.
The trailer sure as heck made me want to play the game even more, and I’m sure I’m not the only person who got that StarCraft II itch simply by watching the latest commercial. The video featured guns, creepy creatures, and badassery. These are three elements that spell success if a company can utilize them properly. And we all know Blizzard is just the company to do so.
July 27 really couldn’t come soon enough. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is easily one of the most anticipated games of the summer, and when it launches, people will rejoice, Blizzard will rejoice, and the GameStop staff will have their store mobbed by countless fans of the RTS title.
