In a recent post from just under two weeks ago I talked about how I had successfully managed to bring a friend of mine over to the StarCraft side. This individual had never played Blizzard’s amazing sci-fi real-time strategy title, and he seemingly overlooked it. He never bashed it or anything; he just never thought anything of it.
He recently started playing the game, and I was aware that he enjoyed, but I didn’t hear from him for a while. That is until just last night. Apparently he’s been getting his StarCraft on through Battle.net, so any and all free time he has is devoted primarily to StarCraft.
It’s good to know that I helped spawn such StarCraft devotion out of my friend. He’s told me that since he started getting into the game he’s been checking for merch online, checking out info on the manga and novels, and he even has an interest in reading Heaven’s Devils.
I asked him if he’s been checking out StarCraft Fan, and he told me he has. Then I asked him if he’s started recommending the game to any of his friends. So far, he’s gotten two of his closest friends into StarCraft. It’s funny how interest in StarCraft can just branch out that way. I got my friend into it; he got two of his friends into it; now they may get some of their friends into it.
StarCraft is definitely one of those games that is not only revolutionary in its essence, but it is gripping beyond belief, to the point where it can garner an all-new fan base in just a matter of weeks. I continue to be amazed by the wonders of Blizzard’s StarCraft.
