Hello, loyal StarCraft Fan readers. Perhaps you remember a post by yours truly regarding a little Monster Hunter Tri and a little StarCraft conversion. If you don’t, then let me give you just a quick recap on that post.
Basically, I went to my local GameStop to pick up my reserved copy of Monster Hunter Tri with a buddy of mine. He had also preordered the game, but he was short on cash due to bills, car payments, and all that stuff, so I decided to help him out. I let him borrow the few bucks he needed to complete his transaction, but I put down my condition: when he had the money, he would have to go out and buy StarCraft.
Well, the day came. Earlier this week—unbeknownst to me—my good friend went and got himself his very own StarCraft Battle Chest set. I got a call from him last night only to hear the following words: “Dude, StarCraft is ****ing awesome!” Yes, those sweet words were definitely music to my ears, expletives and all.
He told me that he’s been playing StarCraft along with Monster Hunter Tri the moment he gets home from work and right before he goes to bed. Ah, habitual gaming, is there a better habit than that? (The answer is no, by the way.)
I can’t help but get a nice feeling whenever I get someone to play one of my favorite games. I felt it when I got my wonderful girlfriend to play The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I felt it when I got my best friend to play Cave Story. And now I’ve felt it this time that I’ve gotten my friend to play StarCraft. I think I’ve made a difference in the gaming world. Now, it’s time to keep the word going forward.
