My, where has the time gone? Really. It seems as though I’ve let my video game hunger get the best of me on this bright and sunny day. OK, so that’s a lie. It’s actually cloudy out right now. But that’s probably why I decided to procrastinate and put my work off for later. You see, I tend to associate StarCraft with gloomy weather. I stated in a previous post that I crave nostalgia, and today I calmed that craving. Granted it took up most of the early part of my day, but at least I can get to work now.
Anyway, it is because I enjoy getting my StarCraft on when the weather is like this that I chose to play for an extended period of time as opposed to getting my work done. (That’s something I’ll be paying for later when I’m struggling to meet my deadlines.)
But really, have I done anything wrong? Sure, procrastination isn’t the wisest action for a struggling freelance writer, but I think I deserve a break. I am a games journalist after all. And to be quite honest, I haven’t really been making with the game-age as of late. Imagine that! A games journalist who hasn’t had time to play video games! It’s preposterous, I say! That is why I decided to sort of take it a little easier today. I had breakfast (Apple Jacks for those who are wondering), checked my email, played a little New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and then moved on to StarCraft 64. And I must say what a fun time I had. Honestly, I could have played for much longer, but I decided to be a responsible adult and get to work.
So now that I’m slammed with work, do I regret my actions? Of course not! This is StarCraft we’re talking about! And last I checked, I’m writing for StarCraft Fan. So I guess you can say it was just part of the job. I do wish I was still playing this very minute, but my work isn’t going to get done on its own. In any case, at least I have something to look forward later tonight. You can bet I’ll be continuing my StarCraft 64 gaming once I get all this work done!
