I don’t think I need to stress the point that playing StarCraft is easily one of the best things anyone can do for fun. Want to play a fun, engaging game? Play StarCraft. Need to get your science fiction fix? Play StarCraft. Want to stay up ridiculously late? You know what to do: play StarCraft!
But what about those stressful moments in your life? What about your relationship troubles? What if your boyfriend is being a complete tool? What if your girlfriend is being rather unpleasant towards you? Hey, it happens. There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. The past few months I’ve had the pleasure of being in a relationship with a sweet girl who is very affectionate, very caring, and very special. But no one is perfect. We recently got into a bit of an argument—which was started due to something so stupid that it’s not even worth mentioning here; believe me, it’s ridiculous—and suffice it to say that arguments take their toll on me.
But rather than just lie down and dwell on the problem like I have done with so many arguments in my past relationships, I decided not to let it get to me too much. What did I do? I turned on my computer and got my StarCraft on! Time started passing by fast again, I wasn’t dwelling on anything, and I felt a lot better. It’s really amazing how StarCraft can solve so many problems.
There’s something very comforting about completing missions in the game’s campaign and seeing animated blood and alien guts splatter all over the place. Oh, and for those of you who are wondering, everything is fine between my girlfriend and I. Like I said, it was a ridiculous argument over a ridiculous topic. I’m glad I didn’t dwell on it too much.
