Blizzard Can Help You Make a Difference

Star Craft 2 Zealot Art

Who says video games can’t help out a good cause?  I’ve often heard a lot of naysayers speaking ill of video games and shrugging them off as “cheap distractions that don’t do anything for the world.”  Well, naysayers, the folks over at Blizzard are doing their part to help out the CHOC Children’s Foundation.

The lovely people who helped make the awesome StarCraft will be giving charitable gamers an opportunity to win drawings for some really cool prizes.  And the best part is that those who win will be helping out the Children’s Foundation!  Between July 13 and July 15, Blizzard will be holding online drawings to see who wins tickets to a dinner at the Hilton Anaheim hotel.

200 tickets will be available, so that’s a lot of winners.  Now, this is a charity thing, so be prepared to pay $500 for your ticket if you do win.  But as steep as that price may sound to many of you, it’s well worth it.  Winners in the online drawing will get the following opportunities: dinner with Blizzard personnel at the Hilton (that’s artists, devs, and countless other Blizzard VIPs, so you know you’ll have the chance to ask some juicy StarCraft and StarCraft II questions!); an autographed piece of Blizzard artwork; and a ticket to this year’s BlizzCon!

That last one is certainly huge, especially considering BlizzCon tickets were sold out almost immediately.  Now, tangible prizes and opportunities to meet the who’s who of Blizzard aside, another perk to winning this drawing is knowing that you helped out the CHOC Children’s Foundation in a big way and made a difference.  So if you’ve got the cash and you feel like making a difference, be sure to enter.  More details can be found on both StarCraft II’s official site as well as the Blizzard Entertainment website.
