It’s funny interacting with people that don’t know much about video games. A good friend of mine has never played a video game in her life, so her take on the entertainment form is actually quite negative. Then there’s my best friend. This guy, unlike myself, is no hardcore gamer. Heck, he may not even classify as a casual gamer. The only thing he uses his Xbox 360 for is to play the current FIFA game. Oh, and then there’s Batman: Arkham Asylum. But that’s just because he’s a huge Batman fan.
But the point I’m trying to get at is that because this fellow doesn’t know squat about video games, he often makes comical remarks which don’t make much sense but are good for a hardy laugh. When I was telling him about all of my E3 happenings, I pointed out to him that I was going to miss it once it ended. That’s when he responded with, “Go to the Warcraft convention.”
Now, maybe it’s because I’m not an MMO player. Or maybe it’s because really the one Blizzard game that captures me the most is StarCraft, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Warcraft convention. I’ve done various internet searches, but ‘Warcraft convention’ doesn’t yield any results.
Immediately after his remark I told him that I believed there was no such thing. That’s when I told him, “There is a convention for the creators of Warcraft, though.” We chuckled about it for some time, and I poked fun at his non-gamerness. Now that I think about it, there should be a Warcraft convention. Imagine the turnout!
(By the way, if there is in actuality a Warcraft convention that I am not aware of, please let me know so I can face palm myself.)
