In the past, I’ve made it clear that when reading material is released in both hardcover and paperback formats, it’s usually the hardcover that looks and feels more special. It gives off a special or limited edition feel, and it makes one proud to say, “Yeah, I own the hardcover version of that.”
Heaven’s Devils has been out for close to two months now, and the only thing stopping me from getting the beautiful hardcover edition is my lack of funds. As it is, I barely manage to make ends meet. I pay my bills, buy food, put gas in my car, pay for school, and purchase video games to write reviews for, which in turn generates a bit more cash for me. It’s a monitored living, but one I’m completely comfortable with at this stage in my life. I’ll worry about all the luxuries once my career has skyrocketed. For now, I’ll manage my expenses ever so carefully.
But I digress. Recent internet findings have helped me discover that the paperback edition of William C. Dietz’s Heaven’s Devils will indeed be distributed. Unfortunately, for those of you eager to read the thrilling novel (like myself) but unable to do so due to its $28 price tag, you’re going to have to wait a few months.
The book will be available in paperback form later this year for just about $8. December 28, to be exact. So those of you who want the novel but are constantly low on funds will have to wait a while to get the great piece of literary art.
Personally, I would much rather get the prestigious hardcover version, but as it is it’s hard to do. I’ll have to wait and see how my financial situation lies this December. And for those of you with cushy jobs, Chrysler 300s, and big, fat bank accounts: go buy the hardcover version!
