I’m sure that all of you know that StarCraft—or anything created by Blizzard—doesn’t get represented at E3. After all, that’s what BlizzCon is for. So when I attended this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, I didn’t expect to see anything at all related to StarCraft. That’s why I was so surprised to catch a look at something related directly to StarCraft II.
In between interviews, demos, and all the other hubbub that revolves around E3, I took some time to check out Into the Pixel, one of the better-known video game art exhibits. I had heard of Into the Pixel before, but I never dreamed I’d have the chance to check out the spectacular artwork for myself. So when I saw that Into the Pixel was indeed a part of this year’s E3 experience, I immediately decided to make time for it and spent a good deal of time looking at all of the work there.
Everything looked great, and the artistry to be found was monumental. Paintings of PixelJunk Shooter, Epic Mickey, and Spider-Man were all there, and suffice it to say I was very impressed. Then I ran into something. It was a panting of Tychus Findlay. It stood there before me, hanging off the wall, and I thought to myself, “I have to get a picture of this for StarCraft Fan.”
And that’s exactly what I did. So while I knew nothing in terms of content related to StarCraft II would be present at E3, it caught me by surprise to see something directly linked to the upcoming game. It was one of those little cool moments you experience every once in a while.
Oh, but did I mentioned I experienced one of those again the following day? Oh, you’ll have to wait until my next post for that one. And yes, it is StarCraft II-related.
